With a novel piece to complete each week, Vivaldi had a hectic schedule. So it is not surprising that several of his well-known works show traces of a rough finish and/or incompleteness. This appears to be the case for the Oboe Concerto RV 436 which ends in this way:
Furthermore, the last movement also contains multiple passages with incongruous chords, rhythms or excessively high notes. Please note elements in bars 7+85, 41-44, 46, 56, 62, and 80. Many recorded performances have already “sanitized” several of those passages, for example in the rhythmically close-to-impossible passages of bars 41-44. In my current amendments to Vivaldi's third movement, I adjusted those passages, and I added eight slowed-down bars to provide a more substantial conclusion to this excellent concerto. For my performance using simulated orchestral tools, I substituted two flutes for the two noted violins.
For the harpsichord versions, I used the Grimaldi harpsichord for the first and the two bass voices, and I used the Ruckers II and the Blanchard instruments for the second and third voices. I have provide two recordings at 440 Hz and 432 Hz, both recorded at exactly the same loudness settings, in order to permit comparable settings over a longer composition.
Orchestral version:
