Colleen went up to her room and sat on her bed. Slowly tears welled up and she began crying.
At the family table, she had been brave and had spoken with deep conviction. Now in private, she felt very, very lonely.
She lay down on the bed, turned off the light and closed her eyes.
Then she heard the door open. Her mum came in and sat down next to her on the bed. Mum took her hand and said quietly, "All is well, Colleen. He'll show up some day. Sooner or later."
Nothing was said for awhile. Then her mum kissed her forehead and continued, "sleep well, Colleen. Listen to the angels singing to you."
Colleen nodded off. And the angels sang to her as she fell asleep.
Colleen was very tired and could not distinguish what the angels were singing.
But here is their prayer (music sheet):
"Our dear Lord, let us rest now, grateful for this day that is ending.
We shall set to the side the tools we used all this day to aid us in our fending.
We are joyful to being in the kingdom surrounding You, so blessed we're feeling.
Let us all look forward to clear, bright and enriching images while we're off to dreaming."
